'Shot from the hip' is a series I started in Marrakesh last year. With the camera now a universal for almost anyone who travels, it's a way for me to try to capture a place in the least obtrusive and most natural way possible. Of course you get plenty of awful shots in the process with aimless shooting, but you also get some gems in the mix. Here's my walk through the medina of Fès to the outdoor market.

Boarding Pass is on hiatus for a couple weeks while I catch up from my travels and get ready to share a fun new project! In the meantime, visit the archives or check out the list of past participants on the list to your right.
i love this. i'll definitely have to try "shooting from the hip" while i'm here in india.
ReplyDeletehow cool! Love this idea. You definitely got some great shots!
ReplyDeleteFantastic idea. And what great results! Why didn't I think of that?
ReplyDeleteI usually steer clear of shooting people because there's not a good way to do it without alerting them. But I was wrong!
Looking forward to "shooting from the hip" on my next trip afar.
What a fantastic idea! I will definitely try this out sometime. Awesome pics!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea...reminds me of the old cameras you looked down into...so much less obtrusive.
ReplyDeleteNever thought of doing that! I love shooting photos of people but I always feel intrusive. Maybe I should try "shooting from the hip" sometimes...
