Berlin, Germany

next trip on deck:
Provence, France

Bakio, Spain

Peru

Airplane/scooter

Japan

Delhi, India I'd love to go back to other parts of India but I don't see myself going back to Delhi for fun.

Stanton and I took a road trip around Northern Spain in 2008. We were both working a lot at the time and the trip was a true vacation.

I'm a hairstylist so I always ask clients or co-workers for recommendations. I also research local blogs in the cities I'm going to and try to find places to eat and things to do that way.

I take a lot of photos, with a lot of different cameras and take free postcards from anywhere I can.

what is your favorite thing to photograph in a new place?
Clouds

Oh man, I don't even know. I took like 6 photos in Berlin and 400 in India. Not sure why, it just happened that way.

80's film Minolta, duct-taped holga, then I choose between either a One Step Polaroid camera, instax wide, or instax mini and of course my iPhone. Stanton is in charge of our point-and-shoot.

Develop my film as soon as possible, blog about it, and look at my photos a few times then stick them in a box for my future children to discover.

Candy, especially Kit Kats. (Did you know there are over 100 different flavors in Japan alone?!)

Loved the insights!
ReplyDeleteAnd taking pictures of clouds..they do look different everywhere, don't they?
This is wonderful! What great photos as well! I would LOVE to go to Peru some day....! I bet your future children will be super excited when they discover that box of photos someday!

ReplyDeleteExcellent photos and great to hear about Rubi's travels - I just met her on a shoot this week!
ReplyDelete"one place you would go back to again and again:
ReplyDeleteBakio, Spain"
Bakio ? There´s a nice beach and the green hills around are beautiful, and you might surf on the sea waves a bit, but there´s nothing really more; a tiny village; she must have fallen in love with someone.
I would have said Lekeitio or Mundaka on the Guernica beautiful ría or Elantxobe in the same province or Castro Urdiales or Santoña or Santillana Del Mar and (Caves of Altamira) or Comillas and Suances in Cantabrian province.

Her blog IS fun...so glad to know more about her! I'm blown away by the Kit Kat factoid, whoa.
ReplyDeleteThanks for having me Anne!
ReplyDeleteAlso, Robin, I love Bakio because it's exactly what you described. A tiny village with a beach and a fairytale forest, nothing more. I will definitely have to check out the other place you listed though!
I like the old vintage feel of these photos! I recently bought a Lomo camera but I'm still experimenting with it!
ReplyDeleteYes, Rubi; the others highly recommended places, are Lekeitio; Castro Urdiales; Santoña and Santillana del Mar or Comillas; alone or in love.
