Ever since I lived in Baltimore I've been a huge fan of outsider art thanks to The American Visionary Art Museum. In Paris museum-wise the closest thing is "art brute" at Halle Saint Pierre at the foot of Sacre Coeur. But now until Dec 16th The Museum of Everything is going on. This post can only brush the surface (there's 1,000 Euros for photographing the art, so I was forced to just experience and enjoy). Wednesday-Sunday between noon and 8pm the doors open for Everything Exhibition #1.1 at 14 Boulevard Raspail, 7ème. The space is amazing – inside a former Catholic elementary school – and the closest thing I can describe the experience as is walking through a multi-story haunted house, but beautiful, not scary. A range of artists from around the world are featured and docents are scattered around if you want more information. The exhibition is presented by the Chalet Society, which is a new cultural space created by Marc-Olivier Wahler, the former director of the Palais de Tokyo. It's definitely worth stopping by for the 5 Euro suggested donation. I can't wait to see what else this group cooks up!
