HAPPY YEAR OF THE RAT!* Today marks the start of 15 day celebration of the Chinese New Year (sadly serious weather conditions will prevent many from joining their loved ones). The only time I've ever witnessed this wonderous holiday was with a festive parade in Paris along the Champs Elysee...Since I'm neither in China (or Paris), why not celebrate with one of these special treats on Primitive Culture?
*Baltimore is known for it's rats. I once heard a rumor that there are 1,000/city block. . . Sometimes we call them crats [cat + rat] because they're so big!
Still not sure what the Year of the Rat holds, but the parades in Bangkok were wonderful!!! I even got "handed" a clementine out of the mouth of a large moving "snake"!!

I was out with a friend yesterday buying turnip cake for a celebratory dinner tonight. Kung Hei Fat Choy!
